Every year Bailey has Market Day at school – this will be her last one as next year she moves from pre-prep to prep. I have this habit of finding fun things to make and then delegating the task to others… like the first year Bailey sold sequinned headbands with flowers on them, made by my mum. The second year Bailey sold fudge. Easy enough, you think? Well, after two failed attempts myself, JL had to step in. This year, I stumbled across Mer Mag’s Pencil Holder heads and knew we had to do these. And this time I did help a bit more!
I got a strip of wood from Builders and got them to cut it into squares for me, then the hard part – drilling all the holes into each block of wood – was done by JL. After that, he sketched a few faces in pencil on each block, and then the painting was done by Bailey and myself (with one suffering an attack by Robbie). I think they’re super cute and although they’re not perfect, Bailey is very proud of them and can’t wait to sell them to all her friends.
