On a blustery, wet, windy day last week we went to The Bay Hotel in Camps Bay for the launch of L’Occitane‘s new skincare range Pivoine Sublime. The range uses peony extract that’s historically been used for its therapeutic properties.
To get a little technical for a moment, the experts at L’Occitane’s lab in the Manosque used enzymatic hydrolysis – a process that breaks up the molecules of an extract into micro-fragments that are incredibly active on the skin – all very interesting. After five years of research, they revealed their new peony-infused skincare range as well as fragrance and tinted lip balms (which I am now completely addicted to).
I have really dry skin and in winter it’s worse. I was moaning to Liza the other day about how awful my skin was looking, so dry and drab, so I was excited to start using L’Occitane’s Peony Perfecting Cream. I’ve been putting it under my barrier moisturing cream and in a week my skin is looking visibly improved. It has some of that elasticity back and is looking so much more hydrated. Yay!
We had to snap a few pics of the pink, peony-inspired snacks. They were delicious.
