bailey’s princess party

Our precious daughter turned four on Monday. Four?! What a delight she is to us, seriously. She’s the happiest, smiliest, funniest little girl who delivers the most classic one liners on a daily basis. We had her party on Saturday, in the Arderne Gardens in Claremont, a princess picnic in the park. Initially it was meant to be a ‘prince and princess’ party, that’s what Bailey wanted, but after last year’s massive bash with all her friends, our friends, family members etc, we decided to just do school mates this time round. So just princesses.

This was also the first year that it didn’t rain, yay! I got the balloons, princess plates and cups from In Good Company and the quiches, cupcakes and mini meringues were made by our friend Lizette from Philos Food (delicious!). I also made princess biscuits (with a rather failed attempt at royal icing) and jelly cups (that melted in the sun!). The pretty princess cake was made by another good friend of ours, Margie from It Takes the Cake (082 376 3611).

Overall, it was a wonderful afternoon. The girls fed bread to the ducks (and the peanuts that were meant for the squirrels), they hunted for princess crowns, played hula hoops, blew giant bubbles, got their faces painted and ate lots of sweet treats.
