an afternoon at babylonstoren

After hearing endless rave reviews from everyone who’s ever been to Babylonstoren, we finally had our time to enjoy this magical place. After lunch at Babel (glorious!) we spent ages walking around the garden admiring the attention to detail at every turn, then ending up at the Greenhouse for coffee. It was probably one of the most relaxing afternoons we’ve had this whole year – largely due to the fact that we had no children with us and could actually hold a conversation. If you haven’t been yet, book now. Amazing food, fresh air, breathtaking scenery… all you need really.

a day at the vineyard

On Father’s Day we went as a family to Dornier Wine Estate in Stellenbosch. Such a find. This place has a take-your-breath-away kind of view, thrown in with great wine, food and a very cool kiddies play area off to one side. It was such a great day. Once we’d finished eating, we lay on the grass in front of the restaurant for the rest of the afternoon. The kids ran riot and we lazed off the wine by lying in the sun. There are so many great wine farms around us, but this place is perfection…
