It’s exceptionally inspiring to see life through the eyes of Skinny laMinx designer Heather Moore. She just has that knack of being able to turn everyday things into works of art. If you follow Heather on Instagram, you’ll get a good sense of how her creative brain works.
And her latest collection is a prime example. Heather was inspired by early 20th century architecture where perforated brick, concrete and steel brise soleil (French for sun breaker) screens were built in tropical climates to create privacy and security as well as to filter the sun and allow air movement. For years, she has been capturing the beauty of these structures in her travels to Tokyo, Jaipur, LA and all over SA.
And these incredible screens with their different patterns are the inspiration behind her new collection, aptly named Brise Soleil. The collection consists of three new textile designs (Weft, Apeture and Breeze) in three shades… concrete, petrol and moonbeam.
Below are some incredible collabs Heather did with four furniture manufacturers in Cape Town for the Brise Soleil Lookbook. We heart them all, but the LIM collab is our fave.
