valentine’s ideas for her

Girls are easy to buy for, but sometimes your man needs a bit of encouragement or some not-so-subtle hints. Here are a few ideas… maybe send him the link or leave your laptop open on this page when he’s nearby 🙂

1/ Opus hanging plant – a bunch of flowers is lovely but we prefer the idea of something that lasts longer

2/ Dear Rae silver knot ring and 3/ Country Road circle necklace – you can’t go wrong with jewellery

4/ Zana soft pot – it can be used to store toiletries, make-up, hairbrushes or as a plant holder

5/ L’Occitane Citrus Verbena fresh shower gel and hand cream gel – full of minty freshness and goodness for your hands and body

6/ Yankee Candle in clean cotton – the best smelling candle you’ll ever own, plus they have a ton of delicious scents to choose from, like Fluffy Towels, Cinnamon Stick, Egyptian Musk, Baby Powder, Black Plum Blossom, Vanilla Lime, White Gardenia and many more

7/ The Girl on The Train – we have still not read this New York Times bestseller but we’ve heard it’s brilliant

8/ Beau Constantia Pas de Nom red wine blend – this smooth-textured red has a ripe, dark fruit flavour with a beautifully rich and structured palate

Look out for our Valentine’s Ideas for Him coming soon!

robbie’s first birthday party

Finally. Some time to post the pics from Robbie’s party. It was a lovely morning at our house spent with a few of his little friends and our families. We think Robbie had a good time 🙂

Preparations began with the idea of making bow-ties and hair bows for all his little friends. I ordered a scrap pack from Zana, because their fabric is just too beautiful. In the pack I received, the scraps were mostly black and white and so the overriding theme of Robbie’s party became black and white. Which I quite liked. I made all the bows myself, something I’m very proud of!

The boys looked so dapper in their bow ties, and the girls so sweet with their hair bows! I printed some Instagram pictures through 250gram (great service by the way) to create a timeline of Robbie’s first year.

For the biscuits, I really wanted bow ties and I searched high and low, called a ton of places for a bow-tie cookie cutter…  no luck. So Lizette from Philo’s Food used a crown cookie cutter I had from Bailey’s princess set to make these beautiful biscuits.

A beautiful first birthday cake by Love, The Baker. Red velvet with a meringue icing… Delicious!

The highlight of the party… Robbie’s very own smash cake.
